CONTEXT
ANS (national sports agency) wanted to pay tribute to the relationship between coaches and their athletes. WILLIE BEAMEN imagined and created a series of micro-documentaries: ‘Pour un champion” ("For a champion"). This series focuses on the key people who are too often in the shadow of the athletes: the coaches.
OUR ANSWER
"For a Champion", a series that tells the story of these relationships with a 'human' approach: handheld camera, close-up shots of faces, capturing moments of everyday life supported by a voice-over, which is the athlete’s one.
A 'discreet' way of filming that leaves room for real interactions/emotions between the athlete and the person accompanying him/her.
